CENTEREACH, NY — Brookhaven residents are being asked to weigh in on the proposed redistricting maps for neighborhoods across town.

Redistricting is part of a process that takes place after the federal census every 10 years when New York State must redraw the boundaries of congressional and state legislative districts to reflect the changes in population.

The town's redistricting committee have been hosting meetings in each council district "for the sole purpose of receiving testimony and documents," officials said.
