Brush Fire Ignites In Brookhaven; Firefighters Battling
The fire closed all lanes on NY 27 at exit 57 on Tuesday.

SACHEM, NY — Firefighters are currently battling a large brush fire in Brookhaven, closing all lanes on NY 27, the Brookhaven Fire Department confirmed with Patch.
The brush fire, located at exit 57 westbound, closed all lanes at about 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday, according to 511 NY.
Photos posted on social media showed a plume of heavy smoke billowing into the sky.

According to News 12, six acres of land have already burned and about 100 firefighters from 14 departments responded to the scene to fight the flames. The fire is under control, but still burning, News 12 said.
