- Suffolk Police close road Saturday night to investigate crash. Ocean Avenue between Express Drive North and Michigan Street was closed for a crash that took place just before 7 p.m. Fourth Squad detectives are investigating, police said. There are no other details available as of this writing. (Patch)
- The Sachem Central School District welcomed BusPatrol, the leading stop-arm enforcement technology provider, to Hiawatha Elementary School on Oct. 21 to roll out its 'Thumbs Up' campaign. "From our view, every week should be school bus safety week because our charge is to always keep our students and staff safe," Hiawatha Elementary School Principal Joe Watson said.
