CHEER AND POM CAMP Summer 2016

THREE WEEKS OF SUMMER CAMP FUN IN SACHEM SD TO CHOOSE FROM. INDIVIDUALS AND STUNT GROUPS WELCOME. TUMBLING BY FREE TO FLY...CHEER 360....

Welcome to Cheer/ Dance Camp!!

We are in our 14 thyear and excited to offer three separate weeks of camp.  PLEASE "LIKE" US ON FACEBOOK.... SYAG SUMMER CHEER AND POM. THERE ARE POSTS DAILY DURING CAMP WEEKS AS WELL AS THE MONTHS LEADING UP TO CAMP.

Session 1 and 3 Cheer Camp- 1st-8th graders- traditional cheers and pom, stunt progressions, motion technique, jumps, tumbling and teamwork.

Session 2 Pom/Dance Camp– This is one section of camp running simultaneously with Tryout Prep
Tryout Prep- This is a separate camp running simultaneously with Pom/Dance Camp 6th-10th grade

Pom/Dance Camp-1st-8th graders Jazz, Hip-Hop, Prop, Traditional Fight song, tricks and tumbling

Tryout Prep- 6th-10thgraders- Stunting, tumbling, jumps, instructors are alumni and current North and East Varsity Cheerleaders- visit by Middle School coaches!!. Get ready for Tryouts in August (JV and Varsity) and September (Middle School)!

LOCATION IS CAYUGA ALL THREE WEEKS

FINAL DAY EXHIBITION… FRIENDS/FAMILY… BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS…Doors OPEN AT 11:15, EXHIBITION STARTS 11:30

Session 1 - 5 day camp Cheer Camp 9am-12:30 2016 Theme OLYMPICS
Session 3 - 5 day camp Cheer Camp 9am-12:30 2016 Theme GO FIGHT WIN SACHEM

Session 2 -5 day camp Dance Camp 9am-2pm
Tryout Prep 10am-2pm 2016 Theme Tryouts GAME DAY!!

Before hours 8-9am M-F $50 per week and After hours/Extreme team until 2pm available Sessions 1 and 3 for Monday-Thursday
for an additional $50 per week to be paid the first day of camp….Separate check or cash please

There will be a sign at the gate entrance and greeters the first day. Check in is just beyond the Main Office entrance at the grassy area of the Multipurpose room entrance. Check in/out will be there each morning and afternoon. At the conclusion of each day, campers must sign out and be picked up inside the school and on the grassy area outside the craft/snack rooms-the Multipurpose room….

Campers are not to leave the site during clinic hours unless they are signed out by Lucille Mankowich, Gina Fragale, or Gail Baird.

Please let us know the first day of camp if your camper will be missing any days or parts of days of camp.

All concerns about camp need to be addressed by the camp director or supervisor, Lucille Mankowich/ Gina Fragale,/or Gail Baird. Please do not discuss matters with the high school and college age staff.

WHAT CAMPERS SHOULD WEAR:
TANK TOP, ATHLETIC SHORTS, SNEAKERS WITH SOCKS, HAIR TIED BACK NO JEWLERY
FINAL DAY EXHIBITION T-SHIRT/SHORTS.. IN “TEAM” COLORS. YOU WILL KNOW THIS BY THE END OF CAMP ON TUESDAY.

WHAT CAMPERS SHOULD BRING:
2 WATER BOTTLES LABLED WITH NAME
LIGHT SNACK… PLEASE KEEP IT PEANUT FREE SEPARATE DRINK
LUNCH IF STAYING FOR “AFTER HOURS/EXTREME TEAM” OR FOR ALL FOR SESSION 2.

Camp is held indoors on mats with periodic times outside…especially with the younger campers, please apply sunscreen ½ hour before campand bring and apply your own.

CAMP STORE: OPEN THE FIRST DAY AND ALL WEEK

Drinks/snacks 2 for $1.00 granola bars, fruitsnacks, chips, water bottles, Capri suns,

Cheer Tanks $10 Cheer Skirts $10 Cheer Shorts $5 Limited sizes… get them early in the week

WHAT THE DAY IS LIKE:

Ratio 1:8
Staffed by Coaches, alumni and current Sachem Cheerleadersand Arrowettes. Adult supervision isgeneral and inclusive of campers and instructional staff
Session 1 There is time scheduled for lunch at about noon.
Additional tumbling/stunt instruction will be by GRAVITY CHEER! Conditioning by Cheer 360!!

There is a parent survey on the www.syag.com website for you to take after your camp experience. Be sure to note your feedback is for the SUMMER CLINICS and not the Fall Sideline Cheerleading program.
