Cop Breaks Car Window, Arrests Pair on Drug Charges in Lake Ronkonkoma
Police say a 30-year-old man refused to get out a car during traffic stop Tuesday afternoon; officer feared for safety of residents.

LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY- A man and woman were arrested on drug charges Tuesday in Lake Ronkonkoma, police said.
According to police, an officer spotted a man driving a car “erratically” on Hawkins Avenue around 3:40 p.m.
When the officer asked the driver, 30-year-old Michael Kramer, of Coram, to get out of the 2010 Jeep, near Slater Pharmacy south of Portion Road, he refused, police said.

The officer ”fearing the safety of residents” broke the car window and pulled Kramer out of the car, police said.
Kramer was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (heroin). The passenger in a car, 27-year-old Kailey Brennan, of Lindenhurst, was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a prescription drug with no prescription) and possession of a hypodermic needle.

Kramer and Brennan will be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip Wednesday.
