Driver Charged With DWI After Farmingville Crash Injures 1: PD

Suffolk police said Priscilla Torres crashed a car into two others, causing a Jeep to fall off the County Road 83 overpass.

FARMINGVILLE, NY — A 39-year-old Brentwood woman was arrested for drunken driving after a collision caused a Jeep to fall off the County Road 83 overpass onto Bicycle Path in Farmingville early Sunday morning, Suffolk County police said.

Police said that Priscilla Torres was driving a 2018 Nissan sedan northbound on County Road 83 as it passes over South Bicycle Path at about 12:45 a.m., and she failed to maintain her lane of travel, allowing the car to strike a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2010 Jeep Liberty. The collision caused the Jeep to fall off the overpass onto South Bicycle Path below and overturn, police said.

The Jeep’s driver, Jill Voigt, 54, of Coram, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of “non-life-threatening injuries,” police said. The Camaro’s driver, Dwayne Picton, 38, of Georgia, was not injured, according to police.
