Drunk Driver Charged in Ronkonkoma Crash That Kills Husband and Wife: Police
The crash occurred Sunday night.

RONKONKOMA, NY - A 23-year-old man is charged with DWI following a Ronkonkoma crash that killed a married couple from Medford Sunday night, police said.
According to police, 67-year-old William Kear was driving a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck and attempting to make make a left turn to travel north on Ocean Avenue, near Lakeland Avenue, when the truck was struck by a 2012 Audi A4 that was heading southbound on Ocean Avenue.
Kear and his wife, Joanne Kear, were transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where they were pronounced dead from their injuries, police said.
The driver of the Audi, Kyle Glinka, of Bohemia, was transported and admitted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Glinka was arrested and charged with DWI.
Both vehicles have been impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6553.
