DWI Charge After Lake Grove Man Crashes Vehicle In Centereach: Police

He was also charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration because he tried to run away, Suffolk police say.

CENTEREACH, NY — A Lake Grove man was charged with drunken driving after his vehicle struck another on Middle Country Road in Centereach on Sunday night, Suffolk police said.

The 29-year-old was driving a 2003 Chevrolet westbound on the shoulder of Middle Country Road, when it struck a 2012 Subaru that was headed eastbound and making a left turn onto the northbound Nicolls Road ramp while the green arrow was activated, according to police.=

The Subaru's driver, a 60-year-old woman from Centereach, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The 29-year-old man was also charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration because he tried to run away while being arrested, according to police.

The crash happened at about 10:20 p.m., police said.
