Farmingville Woman Hurt When Driveway Gate Falls On Her In Chain Reaction Crash: Police

She was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, Suffolk police say.

FARMINGVILLE, NY — A Farmingville woman was hurt when a driveway gate fell on her in a chain reaction crash in the driveway of her home on Wednesday night, Suffolk police said.

A 26-year-old Holtsville man was driving a 2019 Chevrolet pickup westbound on Express Drive North when he turned right into his driveway at around 8:45 p.m., and the gate to the driveway was closed, leaving the rear of his vehicle partially in the Express Drive North right lane, according to police.

His 67-year-old mother was about to open the gate, when a 2026 Kia sedan, driven by a 48-year-old West Islip man, hit the back of the Chevrolet, causing it to strike the gate, which fell on the woman, police said.
