Firefighters responded to a basement fire that broke out in a Farmingville home on Tuesday morning. According to fire officials, the Farmingville Fire Department responded to the Hazel Avenue home to find heavy smoke at 2:50 a.m. The fire was quickly knocked down with assistance from Holtsville, Ronkonkoma and Selden fire departments.
