The National Weather Service has just released its first snow accumulation estimates for the island for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has just released its first snow accumulation estimates for Long Island for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Snow is expected to begin by Tuesday evening and continue into early Wednesday. A total of 2-3 inches is likely in Suffolk County. Nassau County is currently in line for 1-2 inches.
It's by no means a big storm, but the timing of the snow may create hazardous conditions on the roadways during the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.

Sunday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 13. Wind chill values between zero and 10. Northeast wind 9 to 11 mph.

Monday- Partly sunny, with a high near 28. Wind chill values between zero and 10. Northeast wind around 14 mph.
Monday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 25. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight.
Tuesday- A 50 percent chance of light snow after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the morning.
Tuesday Night- Light snow likely, mainly before 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 29. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Wednesday- A 40 percent chance of light snow before 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34.
Wednesday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19.
Thursday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 32.
Thursday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 23.
Friday- Sunny, with a high near 37.
