Frontier Airlines Adding 10 New Destinations From MacArthur Airport

The low-cost carrier has announced it will be offering nonstop flights to 10 cities from MacArthur Airport.

RONKONKOMA, NY – Long Islanders clamoring for more nonstop service from Long Island MacArthur Airport can rejoice at this announcement: Frontier Airlines is adding 10 new destinations from the Town of Islip-owned airport.

The low-cost carrier announced it will soon be offering flights to New Orleans, Chicago, Detroit, Charlotte, Atlanta and Minneapolis, along with four Florida cities.

Frontier, which is based in Denver, will begin booking all 10 destinations immediately with introductory fares, launching five of the cities this fall and five more next spring.

On Oct. 5, Frontier will begin service to:

  • Miami (MIA) once daily, increasing to twice daily on Oct. 10
  • Tampa (TPA) once daily
  • West Palm Beach (PBI) once daily
  • New Orleans (MSY) Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Fort Myers (RSW) once daily

  • Atlanta (ATL)
  • Charlotte (CLT)
  • Chicago (ORD)
  • Detroit (DTW)
  • Minneapolis / St. Paul (MSP)

Frontier has already announced a once-daily nonstop flight to Orlando beginning on Aug. 16.

“This service is exactly what our community has been asking for,” Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter said. “It’s an amazing win for the people of Long Island. This announcement for the autumn slate of flights equates to roughly $4 million in revenue for MacArthur Airport. We are thrilled with this list of cities."
