Students gathered in front of the school building to cheer for the veterans as they walked the short parade route. As part of the day’s activities, fifth-grade students had the opportunity to ask the veterans questions about their experiences in the military, such as the places they traveled and the uniforms they wore. Beterans spoke to students about the importance of teamwork, communication and creating connections with people who are different from themselves.

Throughout the Sachem Central School District, schools have recently participated in various activities honoring the bravery and commitment of military members across the country.
