Help Wanted: Job Postings in Sachem, June 19

A glimpse at local positions currently available.

It was a run-of-the-mill week for Sachem job postings. Many of the seasonal jobs have already been grabbed up, and full-time positions weren't as abundant the past two weeks as they were in May.  On the plus side, jobs are being posted. Have a look:

Graphic Designer: Ronkonkoma-based firm looking for a full-time graphic designer and marketing specialist to keep the business rolling. Web, print and interactive design are all apart of the position. At least three years of experience needed, as well as knowledge fo HTML, HTML5, CSS, MXML, and XML.

Receptionist: Insurance agency in Ronkonkoma looking for a receptionist. This is a full time, entry level position. Requirements include excellent communication skills, computer literacy, telephone skills and an upbeat attitude. Korean speaking abilities a plus but not required. Hours are from 8:30 a.m until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Benefits included.

Counslor: This is part-time position with a Suffolk facility seeking a candidate with experience dealing with domestic and dating voilence, as well as sexual abuse with adolescents. Hours are roughly 20 per week. Spanish speaking abilities a plus.

Community Outreach Specialist: This position was posted last week, but it's a great opportunity to get in on a budding industry so Sachem Patch is re-posting it. The position, of course, is working as a customer service specialist for the Conservative Service Group in Ronkonkoma. As such, the right candidate will help income-eligible customers save energy and lower their electric bills. Background in social-related work needed, as well as at least five years of experience in client relationship management. Benefits offered.

General Manager: The Crowne Plaza is in need of a general manager for the front desk of its Holtsville location. Responsibilities include managing hotel staff, manging projects and renovations, overseeing public relation efforts, as well as human resourse acrivities including payroll and accounting. Four year degree required. Leadership and previous experience working on deadline a plus. Pay starts at $47,000.

Help Wanted around town for teens: This job board aims to have a 'teen job of the week' each week, but some times the best approach is for teens to get out and hit the sidewalk. Several stores around the Sachem area are currently hiring, and instead of appling online, theses position might best be obtained walking right into the store. Some position noticed by Sachem Patch in the last week include: RadioShack in Ronkonkoma (Waldbaums parking lot), Burger King in Lake Ronkonkoma, McDonalds on North Ocean Avenue and the Family Dollar in Ronkonkoma.  Sitter: Holbrook family needs sitter for Friday afternoons. Job entails caring for two boys (3 and 5) from 11 am until 5 pm from now until Decemeber. Picking up from school and camp also required. Pay between $8 and $10.

 Maintenance worker: This full-time position is with DiCarlo Distributors, a family owned broadline food distributor in Holtsville. Position entails custodial and general maintance work such as small repairs. Previous electrical and or plumbing experience preferred. Attractive benefits. Pay between $8.75 and $9.00 per hour.

Deli Help: Lake Deli in Farmingville is in need of deli counter and kitchen help. Expereince persons need only apply. Working weekends and holidays required.

Whole Foods Market: The folks at Whole Foods Market would like the Sachem community to know that on every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. the company’s Lake Grove location will be hosting a job hiring screening.
