Holbrook Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash: Police

The 66-year-old man was struck by a vehicle on Broadway Avenue Thursday night, Suffolk police say.

HOLBROOK, NY — A Holbrook man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night after he was struck by a vehicle on Broadway Avenue, Suffolk County police said.

Mario Corvasce, 66, was in the roadway in front of 780 Broadway Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle heading south, police said.

The driver did not stop, police said.

Corvasce was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Suffolk County police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating the crash. Police did not immediately release a description of the vehicle or driver.
