Sachem Community Job Postings, October 9

The Sachem Patch job board will now be brought to you every other week. With that being the case, there is chance for more jobs to be posted, but that didn't happen this week as local jobs advertised across the internet remain slim. Still, here are a handful of positions that are out there:

Office/Warehouse Assistant: Small trading company in Ronkonkoma is looking for office/warehouse help. Position requires organizing warehouse, sorting packages and keeping accurate records. Work week is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

Package Handler: This is a part-time position with UPS in Farmingville. Work environment is fast paced and physically demanding. Starting pay is between $8.50 and $9.50 per hour.

Breakfast Supervisor: Crowne Plaza has an opening for a breakfast supervisor at its Holtsville hotel. Effective management and communication skills needed to greet guests, set up and oversee breakfast buffet, as well as see that guests are satisfied. Experience a plus. Work week is five-days long, lasting from 5:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Secondary School Teachers: Having trouble trying to find a teaching job? Check out Islip Tutoring Services in Islandia and its currently open position for New York State Certified Secondary School Teachers. Experience of at least one year is preferred. Current subjects available are in mathematics, science, English and social studies.

Parts Department Assistant: Bissett Equipment Corporation, a rental and service provider of landscape and construction equipment in Holtsville has an immediate opening for a parts assistant. The successful candidate will report to the parts manager and assist with customer service, ordering and receiving parts and overseeing inventory. This is a full time position.

Crew Member: For all the teens out there looking for work, Wendy’s in Holtsville is currently hiring crew members. No experience necessary, but previous customer service skills is a plus. Flexible schedules available.

Medical Office Manager: Orthopedic office in Patchogue in need of an efficient, multi-tasking office manager. Previous experience with insurance health plans, no-fault insurance issues, and worker’s compensation policies is big plus. Position is for a four-day work week.

Customer Care Associate: The hours are unique, but anyone looking for a position in the retail field can find it at AC Moore in Holbrook. The arts and craft store is looking for a customer care associate to fill the 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. shift. Primary responsibilities include customer care, working on the cash register and dealing with the freight functions of the store.

Salon Help: Axios Salon in Lake Grove has several openings for assistants with previous experience and/or a hair cutting license. Weekend work (Thursday through Sunday) is a must.

Whole Foods Market: The folks at Whole Foods Market would like the Sachem community to know that on every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. the company’s Lake Grove location will be hosting a job hiring screening.
