LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Police are seeking the thief who damaged boxes and stole cash from a Lake Ronkonkoma church earlier this month. A man broke six donation boxes and took money out of them at Saint Joseph’s Church, Suffolk County police said.

The crime happened around 5:15 p.m. on June 14, police said. The church is located near Church Street and Lake Promenade.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the man. The Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for details that lead to an arrest.
