Landscaping Truck Backs Into 71-Year-Old Woman in Ronkonkoma

RONKONKOMA, NY - A 71-year-old Ronkonkoma woman was seriously injured Thursday morning when a landscaping truck backed into her outside her home, police said.

According to police, Rose Dalli was standing in the roadway in front of her home at 22 2nd Court shortly before 11 a.m. when she was struck by a trailer that was attached to a landscaping truck owned by by Dank Inc., of Massapequa, police said.

Dalli was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the truck, a 43-year-old Freeport man, stayed at the scene. No criminal charges have been filed.

The investigation is continuing.
