LI Bike Run To Collect Teddy Bears For Needy Children This Holiday
The Red Knights' Teddy Bear Run will allow many children to" experience the joy of opening a gift this holiday season," Ed Romaine says.
PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — A group of bikers with some big hearts plan to take to the road on Long Island next month in support of a good cause.
The Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau INTERFACE program will host the Red Knights Motorcycle Club New York Chapter 26 Teddy Bear Run on Nov. 20 to collect donations of new Teddy Bears for thousands of children in need who live in the township.
Registration starts at 10:30 am at the Terryville Fire Department Station 3 on Canal Road in Port Jefferson Station. The ride kicks off at noon, but ends with a special lunch at Painters’ Restaurant in Brookhaven. Those not taking part in the ride can stop in at Painters’ for lunch at 1 pm.

The participation fee for riders and passengers is $25 with a teddy bear and $30 without one. The first 100 riders will receive a free t-shirt, and anyone is welcome to drop off a donation at either the Terryville Fire Department Station 3 or Painters'.
The INTERFACE program provides "a variety of goods and services to those in need through volunteerism and generous donations," town officials said.
