LI Woman Found Stabbed To Death After ‘Calling For Help’: PD

A resident heard the woman "calling for help," and when they went looking for her, found her mortally wounded, police say.

HOLTSVILLE, NY — A neighbor found a woman stabbed to death after hearing her cries for help in Holtsville on Thursday night, Suffolk County police said.

Police said that at about 8 p.m., a resident of Woodland Avenue heard the woman “calling for help,” and when they went looking for her, found her mortally wounded, and called 911. A car was seen leaving the scene, according to police.

The victim, Sandra McIntosh, 46, of Medford, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Police did not immediately release any further information about the stabbing.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the stabbing to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers, a confidential police hotline, at 1-800-220-TIPS.
