The four males, which included two teens, were known to the 20-year-old victim, police said. They were charged with gang assault.
LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Four males, including a pair of teens, were cuffed Wednesday night after they ganged up on a man, beating him with a baseball bat and then shooting him with a BB gun at a Lake Ronkonkoma park, Suffolk police said.
Police were called to Larry’s Landing on Lake Shore Road around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday after a 911 caller reported a ruckus. There they found a 20-year-old Lake Grove man, who police said was attacked by four people who knew him.
The man was hit with "a metal baseball bat, kicked, and then shot with a BB gun," police said.

Under New York State penal code gang assault is defined as participation in an assault with two or more people and seriously injuring a person. It is classified a felony.
Police do not believe the assault is related to an organized gang or drugs, a spokeswoman said.
The 16-year-old was scheduled to appear in family court Thursday. The other three were to be held overnight and appear in Central Islip district court Friday.
