A 78-year-old Long Island woman was found dead in a car in a Burger King parking lot in New Jersey Monday, authorities said.

Frances McQuaige, of Medford, was found in a golf Cadillac sedan Monday morning by employees of the Burger King located in Hackensack, about 13 miles northwest of Manhattan.

Police said Monday that McQuaige told Burger King employees that she was going to stay in the car Saturday night because she was too afraid to drive in the snow.

The car was not running when it was found and the tailpipe was free of snow, police said. The Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office is determining the cause of death. No foul play is suspected, police said.
