Man Charged With Murder For Stabbing Outside Long Island Restaurant

CENTEREACH. NY – A 21-year-old man was arrested Thursday and charged in the fatal stabbing of a man outside a Long Island restaurant earlier this month.

Elvin Guzman, 21, of Willow Street in Centereach, is charged with second degree murder, Suffolk Police said.

Guzman stabbed 20-year-old Dennis Miranda Leon in the rear of El Rio Restaurant, located at 2133 Middle Country Road in Centereach, around 12:10 a.m. on April 15, police said.

Leon, of Centereach, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he died on April 19.

Guzman was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.
