UPDATE: Police ID Man Killed in LIE Crash
Police believe a medical emergency caused the crash Wednesday afternoon.

Police have identified the man killed in a crash on the Long Island Expressway Wednesday afternoon as 63-year-old David Hutchings, of Coram.
According to police, Hutchings was driving a 2005 GMC pickup truck east on the LIE near Exit 63 in Holtsville when his vehicle collided with the center median near the HOV lane at about 1:15 p.m.
When police and rescue personnel arrived, they found Hutchings behind the wheel and unconscious, police said.

Hutchings was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives believe Hutchings suffered a medical emergency that caused the crash. The vehicle was impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
