Man Robs Subway Shop 1,000 Feet From His House: Police

Police did not have to search far to find the alleged robber Tuesday evening.

A 26-year-old man was arrested after he robbed a Lake Grove Subway shop at knifepoint Tuesday evening, Suffolk Police said.

According to police, Craig Erick entered the Subway located at 781 Hawkins Ave., approached the counter, displayed a knife and demanded money from a store employee at about 5:10 p.m.

When the employee hesitated, Erick walked behind the counter and removed cash from the register, police said.
