Man Sexually Abused Disabled Person On Boat: Police

BREAKING: The 70-year-old was employed as a home health aide in Ronkonkoma and was supposed to be caring for the victim, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY – A 70-year-old Hampton Bays man who was employed as a home health aide took a 21-year-old disabled person out on his boat and sexually abused the person, Southampton Town Police said.

Anthony Raniello was arrested Monday after an investigation revealed that Raniello had sexual contact with a disabled person, police said. Police did not say when the alleged abuse occurred.

Raniello was employed as a "direct care professional" for the Ronkonkoma-based Smile Agency when he took the victim out on his boat in Hampton Bays, police said.

Raniello is charged with second degree criminal sex act, first degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent person and second degree sexual abuse.
