Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Car In Holbrook Monday Night: PD

HOLBROOK, NY — A pedestrian died after being struck in Holbrook Monday night, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place on Holbrook Road near Vacation Court at 8:25 p.m.

Thomas Heckman, 66, of Holbrook, was walking westbound across Patchogue Holbrook Road near Vacation Court when he was struck by a southbound 2022 Volvo sedan, police said.

Heckman was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Volvo was not injured, police said.

No charges were filed in the crash; the Volvo was impounded for a safety check, police said.
