Police: Drunk Ronkonkoma Man Crashes With His 4 Kids in Car
Man faces a felony DWI charge following arrest Sunday night; no one hurt in crash on the LIE, police say.

A Ronkonkoma man was drunk when he crashed into another vehicle on the Long Island Expressway Sunday night while his four children were in his car, police said.
According to police, Courtney Barker, 28, was driving a 2006 Cadillac SRX east on the LIE in Ronkonkoma near Exit 59 when his SUV struck a 2012 Buick, causing damage to both vehicles, at about 9:20 p.m.
Barker’s wife and four children–ages 2, 4, 9 and 14–were in his vehicle at the time of the incident, but no one was injured, police said.

Police said Barker was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI with a child 15 years old or younger–a felony under Leandra’s Law–DWI and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was also issued three citations for vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.
Barker was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
