UPDATE: Man Dies From Injuries Sustained in Holbrook Crash

The 24-year-old died Saturday, a week after the crash, police say.

HOLBROOK, NY – A 24-year-old man was seriously hurt when his motorcycle collided with a car in Holbrook Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to police, Jeffrey Montgomery, of Holbrook, was riding a 1999 Triumph motorcycle south on Coates Avenue when his motorcycle struck the right rear wheel of a 2014 Mercedes-Benz that was heading northbound and attempting to make a left turn onto Leonard Street at 12:32 p.m.

Montgomery was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the car, 28-year-old Brittany Onorato, of Holbrook, was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
