Police: Ronkonkoma Man Charged in Holbrook Hit-and-Run That Critically Injured Bicyclist

A Ronkonkoma man was arrested on Friday and charged in a hit-and-run in Holbrook earlier this month that critically injured a bicyclist, police said.
John Farina, 50, is charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting serious physical injury. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Friday.
According to police, Farina was driving a large commercial truck east on Veterans Memorial Highway, west of Coates Avenue, when he struck 43-year-old Bradley J. Samuel shortly before 9 p.m. on Oct. 6.

Samuel, of East Patchogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was being treated for head injuries. He was last known to be in critical condition.
