Police: Second Man Arrested in Holbrook Bank Robbery

Police arrest North Babylon man Tuesday in connection with robbery in May.

A North Babylon man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with helping alleged serial bank robber Troy Brinkhuis rob a Holbrook bank in May, police said.

Robert Wiegand, 46, is charged with third degree robbery and second degree criminal contempt. Police say he was found to be in violation of an order of protection at the time of his arrest.

Brinkhuis, of Holbrook, was arrested on July 3 and charged with nine bank robberies. Police say Wiegand was “acting in concert” with Brinkhuis during a robbery of the Chase bank located at 991 Main Street in Holbrook on May 22.
