Police: Selden Man Hit by Car in Lake Ronkonkoma Seriously Hurt

A Selden man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car in Lake Ronkonkoma Friday morning, police said.

Police said Peter Garabedian, 53, was in the roadway on Express Drive North, near Hawkins Avenue, at 5:35 a.m. when he was struck by a westbound 2002 Hyundai. 

Garabedian was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Hyundai, 49-year-old Michael Fici, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
