CENTEREACH, NY — A man was forced at knifepoint to drive to two ATM locations to withdraw money and was then slashed in the face, Suffolk police said.
A 30-year-old Centereach man left his 2003 Chevrolet running and unlocked in the parking lot of OK Petroleum on Middle Country Road in Centereach at about 10:40 p.m. on Dec. 12 and went inside to make a purchase, police said. But when he returned to his car, a man who was armed with a knife, was in the backseat and demanded cash from him, according to police.
"When the victim said he did not have cash, the suspect forced him to drive to two nearby ATMs to make withdrawals," he said.
