Ronkonkoma Firefighters Free Trapped Driver, 2 Taken to Hospital

On Friday morning just before noon, the Ronkonkoma Fire Department was alerted for a motor vehicle accident in front of the Wendy’s on Portion Road.

Lieutenant Joe McGrath was the first commanding unit on scene and advised incoming units of a trapped driver. Firefighters worked quickly to extricate the victim from the vehicle by removing the driver’s side door. Both drivers involved in the accident were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for their injuries.
