Ronkonkoma Man Killed in Crash Into PSEG Transmission Tower

BREAKING: The 29-year-old was ejected from his car, and his body was found in a creek Thursday night, police say.

VALLEY STREAM, NY – A 29-year-old Ronkonkoma man was killed in a single-car crash in Valley Stream late Thursday night, Nassau Police said.

According to police, Navado Pratt was driving a 2006 Infiniti G35 on Peninsula Boulevard when his car left the roadway, entered into the right-of-way separating north and southbound Peninsula Boulevard, and slammed into a PSEG Long Island high-tension transmission tower, police said.

Pratt was ejected from the car in front of 95 Peninsula Blvd., and his body was found in a creek that runs along the median, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the car was impounded for safety checks.

Residents in the area told Newsday that drivers sometimes hit 100 mph on Peninsula Boulevard despite a 30 mph speed limit.
