Ronkonkoma Street Fair Draws Thousands

Event close to wrapping up its 7th annual tradition along Hawkins Avenue.

The 7th Annual Ronkonkoma Street Fair took place today on a beautiful, sun-baked afternoon along Hawkins Avenue just south of Portion Road.

Thousands massed to the stretch of tents, merchandise tables and food trucks on the east and west sides of the street. Vehicle traffic was closed off between Portion Road and Wittridge Road. The day also featured live performances, including a ballet act on the performance trailer just yards away from the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce booth.

"I think this is the biggest crowd we've had ever," said Kevin Hymes, the chamber secretary. "There are at least 200 vendors that came out."
