(Patch Media)

Hi all. It's me, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Daily. Here are all the things you need to know about what's happening in town today. In today's issue, we have these stories and more...

  • Long Island's Joe Scally makes 2022 World Cup roster.
  • See which Sachem area chain restaurants will remain open on Thanksgiving.
  • Town of Brookhaven has collected more than 45 million pounds of recycles this year.

But first, today's weather:

Sunny, pleasant and warmer. High: 65 low: 51.

Here are the top stories in Sachem today:

  1. Long Island's Joe Scally makes 2022 World Cup roster. The 19-year-old Sachem North alumni is the youngest player on the roster. Scally was a once in a generation soccer player and will be bringing his talents to Qatar for the World Cup. "We are excited to take this group to compete in the 2022 FIFA World Cup," USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter said. "We believe we have a talented group, a strong team spirit, and one that is ready to compete. We are extremely proud and honored to represent the United States and appreciate all the amazing support from our fans as we head to Qatar." (Greater Long Island)
  2. See which Sachem area chain restaurants will remain open on Thanksgiving. If you aren't feeling the cooking and cleaning aspect of Thanksgiving, we get it. We have compiled a list of all local restaurants that you can bring the family to Thanksgiving Day. Click the link to see which restaurants will remain open. (Sachem Patch)
  3. Town of Brookhaven has collected more than 45 million pounds of recycles this year. Town Supervisor Ed Romaine said, "The success of our recycling effort is a direct result of the Town's extensive program to educate residents about the importance of recycling and its positive effect on the environment. I am proud of our efforts to increase recycling and I encourage our residents to make recycling a priority in every household." (Press Release Desk)
  4. Check out five open houses in the Town of Brookhaven. As the real estate market becomes less of a seller's market, now is the perfect time to buy. You can click the link to see these homes that all have open houses within the next week. (Sachem Patch)
