Even as the holidays approach, job openings in the community continue to be posted at a steady rate. Check out the most recent positions below:

Government and Public Safety Account Manager: This position is available at Motorola Solutions, and requires at least five years of sales experience. The account manager will be responsible for sales, strategic account planning and overall relationship management for a number of “target” customers or a specific geographic territory. Duties range from developing large project opportunities to acting as a trusted advisor to influence customer’s technology platform decisions, and the ideal candidate will have experience selling to government and public safety customers.

Summer Interns: Motorola Solutions is seeking summer interns to assist in two different departments. The first, a product management internship, will require the candidate to support all ADC products, including identifying trends, performing competitive analysis, and learning features, application solutions, and markets. The second internship is in software engineering, and offers candidates the opportunity to be involved in the design and development of Android, Windows Mobile and Windows CE Embedded computing product device drivers and system software on ruggedized PDAs. Candidates with experience in C/C++ programming, real-time operating systems, Java, and C#/.Net programming are preferred. Both internships are paid and run for a 12-week period.

In-Store Marketing Representative: There are immediate openings for in-store marketing representatives at Sears Home Services at Sears' store in Lake Grove. Representatives are responsible for promoting the location's installed home improvement products, as well as setting appointments with customers to receive a free in-home design consultation and estimate. The position involves a set hourly wage plus the opportunity to achieve bonuses for confirmed appointments. Past sales experience is a plus but not required.

Apple Store: If you've ever wanted to work in the Apple Store, you're in luck this week. The location has posted openings for its location in the Smith Haven Mall for a business specialist, specialist, creative, store leader, genius, and inventory specialist. Responsibilities and qualifications range depending on the position, but all opportunities are within the retail environment.

Store Manager: Journeys in Lake Grove is seeking a store manager to perform sales, staff, operational, and management duties. The candidate will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals, developing a successful store team, and managing store operations among other tasks. The position requires prior experience in a management or supervisory role, at least six months of sales experience, and availability to work 45 hours per week.

VP of Business Development, E-Discovery: There is an opening this week for a VP of Business Development, E-Discovery for information services company CARCO Group, Inc. Compensation for the position include a competitive base salary, excellent benefits, and limitless incentive compensation potential. The VP reports to the CEO, and responsibilities include building a strong sales pipeline, understanding and educating clients and industry experts on CARCO’s product value proposition, and managing e-Discovery billable work. Other duties include developing and closing business with existing clients and new prospects by leveraging formal and informal sales channels, attending industry events and personal networking. Candidates should be willing to travel at least 50% of the time.

Retail Sales Consultant: AT&T has advertised again this week for a full-time retail sales consultant in Lake Grove. If you have between one and three years of retail, customer-facing or sales experience, this position could be for you. Daily responsibilities will include meeting assigned sales goals, staying current on the latest data/entertainment technology and devices, and educating customers via product demonstrations. The consultant will have a competitive base salary, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to earn commission on sales made.

Branch Stock Broker: Scottrade, Inc. needs a full-time branch stock broker to start immediately. Applicants must have a current Series 7 and Series 63 license, at least three years of customer service experience, clean U4 security records, and a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. The stock broker will establish and maintain new accounts, execute trades for customers, and provide stock quotes and news to clients among other responsibilities.

Nanny: A Holtsville family is looking for a nanny to work four days per week caring for their infant child and doing light cleaning. The days needed are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Applicants should be certified in CPR and First Aid, and expect to work from January through the end of June. Pay is between $280 and $320 per week.
