  2. Heat advisory issued for Long Island as heat index will approach 100 degrees. The heat advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday through 8 p.m. Friday. Make sure you stay hydrated, and we will keep you updated on any cooling centers open in the area. (Patch)
