  1. Cooler weekend ahead following heat wave. Temperatures will dip back down into the 80s, with Saturday and Sunday being party cloudy. The only chance of rain comes Saturday, with morning thunderstorms possible. We hope you are staying cool through this heat wave, as Friday night storms will cool things down. (Weather.com)
  2. Latest Patch Block Talk. In our latest installation we asked readers what to do if a neighbor borrows something but doesn't return it.   3. ICYMI: Sloth Encounters in Hauppauge given numerous violations by Town of Islip. "Fire marshals cited Sloth Encounters with violations, including change of use with a permit, lack of fire extinguishers, lack of carbon monoxide detectors and electrical hazards." The business has 30 days to fix the issues otherwise they will face a summons from the town. Animal rights activists are raising concerns as well, and we will keep you updated on this story.
