- Beautiful weekend of weather ahead. After an inconsistent week of weather, the forecast for the weekend is ideal. Expect early morning showers Friday, with clearing later in the day that will lead to sunny skies all weekend. A perfect weekend for some outside activities, which we will update you on what's happening throughout the island tomorrow. (Weather.com)
- Suffolk County Police to roll out officer worn body cameras. The first phase of the rollout was announced Thursday by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. "There is no denying that cameras change everything by providing video and audio that allows an event to be independently verified," Bellone said. "Our body-worn camera program will ensure that we are holding our officers to the highest standards, highlighting the good police work we know our officers are doing on a daily basis, and ensuring that everyone is treated justly and fairly. In short, this body-worn camera program will protect our officers, ensure accountability, and build upon the public trust. That is a win-win-win scenario." (Patch)

Are you a Sachem resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?
Bloomberg recently asked experts where they'd invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.
Thinking you can't afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.
Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here's why:
- Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
- Contemporary art historically returns 23.2 percent when inflation is >3 percent
- Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164 percent (1995-2021)
