- Weekend weather brings very inconsistent temperatures. After what felt like rain that would never end, we look forward to another beautiful fall weekend on Long Island. The temperature will drop over 20 degrees from Friday to Saturday, with Friday's high of 72 and Saturday's only 57. Regardless, expect sunny skies all weekend! (Weather.com)
- The town of Brookhaven Thanksgiving Food Drive begins next week. The annual drive will kick off Friday, Oct. 14 and officials are asking for donations of non-perishables at various town locations. "Many families struggle to make ends meet and our Thanksgiving food drive eases the stress of how they will pay for Thanksgiving," Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine said.
