🌱 Sachem Daily: Former Sachem Coach Pepe Honored + 'Arboretum' A Go
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

Good day, neighbors! It's me again, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily.
First, today's weather:
Periods of clouds and sun. High: 63 low: 52.
Here are the top 3 stories in Sachem today:
- Former Sachem Lacrosse coach Ralph Pepe honored this past weekend. St. Joseph's College and Farmingdale State College held the "Legends Game", which honored the lives of four men who made an impact on the sport." (St. Joseph's-Long Island head coach) Tom Rotanz and I thought about this awhile back, having the game honor some local legends who truly laid the path for everybody involved with Long Island lacrosse," said Farmingdale coach Chamberlain. "Pepe was a beloved coach who was known for being the cornerstone of Sachem Lacrosse and Football". He also coached lacrosse at Westhampton Beach High School and Southhampton College. (Farmingdale Rams)
- Farmingville 292-unit housing development Arboretum will start construction on $91M loan. The project will take three years to complete and features a two- and three-bedroom flat, loft, townhome, and single-family home units within a luxury garden-style community that will also have beautiful amenities, including a resort pool and cabana area, fitness center, yoga room, and fitness on-demand room. "Suffolk County is home to nearly 1.5-million people and a preponderance of single-family homes," officials stated in a news release. "With a dearth of Class A rental apartments and a 2.5 percent vacancy rate, Arboretum at Farmingville will appeal to families and working professionals, many of whom are employed by the multiple healthcare providers and facilities in the area." (Sachem Patch)
- ICYMI: Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine campaigning to comedians Pete Davidson and Colin Jost. The pair of comedians recently purchased an out of commission ferry that they are looking to turn into an entertainment venue. Romaine thinks bringing it to Long Island would be perfect and wrote a letter to the two. In an April 3 letter to Davidson, Romaine said, "while we are well aware of your affinity for your native Staten Island, we welcome you to consider bringing this iconic vessel to a Long Island venue such as Port Jefferson, Patchogue, or even Fire Island." We will keep you updated on this story if it evolves into anything exciting. (Patch)
