Hello all. I'm back in your inbox this morning with everything you need to know about what's happening in town these days. Here goes.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and pleasant. High: 79 low: 61.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:

  1. Bald Hill Amphitheater will host free fireworks show for the Fourth of July. The event will take place on Friday, July 4 and there will be live music, a food court, and a "world class" fireworks show by none other than Grucci. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show kicks off at 9:15 p.m. (Sachem Patch)
  2. No rain Friday and Saturday, but Sunday expect showers. As we head into the weekend, take a look at the weather forecast. Friday and Saturday are both shaping up to be sunny with temperatures near 80 degrees. On Sunday, morning showers will lead to clearing later in the day. (Weather.com)
  3. ICYMI: Police are looking for man who stabbed another man in a Holbrook bar. The incident took place at JDC's Tailgaters Sports Bar, at 1083 Main St., at 1:04 a.m. on May 28. Four men were involved in a fight and the man pictured in the photo in the link stabbed one of the men. The man who was stabbed drove himself to a local hospital to be treated. Are you a Sachem resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?

Bloomberg recently asked experts where they'd invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.

Thinking you can't afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.

Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here's why:

  • Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
  • Contemporary art historically returns 23.2 percent when inflation is >3 percent
  • Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164 percent (1995-2021)
