- Suffolk County Government: Coronavirus case update for January 28. Gov Kathy Hochul held a press conference yesterday on Long Island regarding the blizzard hitting today. In her press conference she also went over COVID-19 numbers which have been declining rapidly on Long Island. We are in a much better place than a month ago, and you can check out all the numbers in Suffolk County's report. The mask mandate was also extended until Feb 10. (Press Release Desk)
- Man burned, 'seriously injured,' in Lake Ronkonkoma fire: police. A man was burned in a fire outside of a home on Express Drive North in Ronkonkoma on Monday morning, Suffolk police said. Police said there was also a vehicle at the location that caught fire just before 8 a.m. The man was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of "serious injuries," police said. - Missing Long Island man found dead on walking trail. We have a sad update on the missing man out of Centereach. The body of Justin Lee, 34, of Centereach was found Friday afternoon, Suffolk police said. Police said the body of thirty-four-year-old Justin Lee was found west of Brookhaven Drive, near the North Shore Rail Trail, at about 2:30 p.m. He was reported missing by an acquaintance on Jan. 21, according to police.
