1. The heat comes back for the weekend. We hope you have enjoyed this stretch of beautiful weather, but sadly it will be hot and humid again Friday through Sunday. Expect temperatures to be in the mid 80s to around 90 degrees. The good news is sunny skies, and no rain is in the forecast. (Weather.com)

3. Brookhaven Town Board votes to condemn bus depot in order to make room for $800 million Ronkonkoma Hub. "The board voted to take the 2.2-acre Hawkins Avenue property, owned by North Fork Express, by eminent domain to make way for 550 residential units, 74,380 square feet of retail space — such as shops and restaurants — as well as 16,000 square feet of office space and a village square can be constructed." This will leave 100 North Fork employees without a job. (Sachem Patch)
