🌱 Sachem Daily: School COVID-19 Changes + Gas Prices Continue To Fall

Hello, everybody! Andrew Tessler here with your Wednesday edition of the Sachem Daily, full of all the things you need to know about what's happening locally.


First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and humid. High: 87 low: 68.


Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:

  1. New York State officially ends COVID-19 school quarantine rules. Students will no longer have to quarantine if they are exposed to COVID-19 in their classroom, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul. "The days of sending an entire classroom because one person was symptomatic or tests positive, those days are over," said Hochul. (Yahoo News)
  2. ICYMI: First ever Farmingville Community Concert Series starts on Friday. The series is a joint venture between the Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce and the fire department. The show kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with Miss Mayhem. Guests must register beforehand. (Sachem Patch)
  3. Gas prices continue to drop on Long Island. Gas dropped another 12 cents over the weekend, bringing the average price for regular gasoline at $3.96 a gallon. Four of the five cheapest gas stations in Suffolk County are in Farmingdale, and you can click the link to see which stations you can go to. (Patch)
