1. Major thunderstorms leave thousands without power. Heavy storms struck Long Island Thursday afternoon, with golf ball size hail reported in some areas. If you have pictures of storm damage, send them to ryan@patch.com. (Patch)
2. William Floyd Varsity Football coach Paul Longo inducted into Class of 2022 Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame. Longo is the winningest coach in Suffolk County public school history, with 13 Suffolk County Championships and five Long Island Championships. Learn more about Longo in the link. (LongIsland.com)
3. Another air quality alert issued for Long Island Friday. It's been a brutal week of heat, and we hope you are getting through it safely. Temperatures will rise into the mid 90s and the heat index will be near 100 degrees in many areas during the day. Friday's air is listed as unhealthy for sensitive groups and the advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (Patch)
