🌱 Sachem Daily: Weekend Weather + Student-Athletes Honored

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

(Patch Media)

Good morning, Sachem! Here's everything you need to know to get this Saturday started. Here's what's going on today in town.

First, today's weather:

Showers late this afternoon. High: 51 low: 39.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:

  1. Sachem Board of Education honors student-athletes. "At the March 9 meeting of the Sachem Central School District Board of Education, outstanding student-athletes from Sachem High School East and North were recognized for their incredible performance on the field, earning All-Academic, All-County, All-League, All-Long Island and All-State honors." (Press Release Desk)
  2. Sachem Chippewa Elementary School students celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Students across grade levels at the elementary school participated in many activities celebrating the holiday. You can see pictures and a full recap in the link! (Press Release Desk)
  3. Weekend weather brings back the cold. This month has seen some of the most confusing weather we've had in quite some time. From record high temperatures to snow, March is always inconsistent on Long Island. Saturday brings seasonal high temperatures reaching the low 50s with rain, but Sunday a cold front moves in. Sunday will be very windy with a high of only 45. The winter jacket will be back out heading into early next week. Saturday morning will be the best option for you to head out and do some errands!
