Here are the top 3 stories today in Sachem:

  1. Suffolk County Legislature votes 13-1 to approve local development corporation to fund the construction of $2.8 billion Midway Crossing Air Terminal and Convention Center. The corporation "will help raise money through the issuance of tax-exempt bonds and pave the way for the two partners to apply for state and federal grant money that will help off-set construction costs." (Sachem Patch)
  2. Town of Brookhaven confirms the second case of West Nile Virus in Suffolk County. The person, who is over 50, did not need to be hospitalized and is recovering at home. The first case was in the Town of Huntington, and you can read more about symptoms and treatment in the article. (Sachem Patch)
